Advantage Wisconsin: Strategic Framework

The University of Wisconsin (UW) campuses, faculty, and staff are uniquely positioned to help create a stronger future for this great state.  The UW System's vision is to Advantage Wisconsin. To do this, the UW System aims to be:

  • the premier developer of human talent in Wisconsin;
  • a key catalyst for creating the high-paying jobs that use this talent; and
  • a vital partner to communities that sustain this talent.

Advantage Wisconsin provides the overarching strategies by which UW campuses will work with internal and external partners to improve economic success for Wisconsin businesses and employees and retain Wisconsin’s high quality of life for its citizens.  This effort will become a key component of a statewide effort to create a new, more effective blueprint for identifying and meeting Wisconsin’s priorities.  

The Advantage Wisconsin strategic framework is an outgrowth of the UW System’s Growth Agenda which establishes budgetary priorities for the UW System. Advantage Wisconsin will build upon and expand this initiative to focus and align efforts of the UW campuses and internal and external partners to make Wisconsin a stronger state. Advantage Wisconsin is far more than a budgetary initiative. It is the blueprint to achieve a stronger future for Wisconsin.
